The strong clue can’t get and
the event hasn’t been solved though the special investigation
headquarters of the Asahi office in Kanagawa prefecture is working the
strenuous investigation.
It has passed nine years from this
event.
I
was anxious about it because I am also Mother.
There is a person that is
suffering from “the sad unreasonable happening” around us.
Our newspaper company トランタン began activities 11 years
ago.
We associated with many mothers, and got information, and then have kept
sending them.
We have spoken for many mothers.
Today, many events by 17-years-old and that by the mother taking care of
the child are breaking out frequently.
What should we Mother think about in this chaos society?
Every time there is an event concerned Mother, mass communication makes
Mother a bait, and writes articles funny.
It was always mother’s fault whenever something happened to the children
even though Mother can’t stay the child that began to stand up his own
foot locking up in the house, or Mother can’t protect the child all the
time.
Mother’s true value is being asked to because of some of crazy mothers
in such cases as “the mother absorbed in the pachinko”, and “the
mother leaves behind a child.”
However, many mothers love a child purely, and she is being brought up
carefully as a special
thing.
I can understand a feeling of Ms. Nomura painfully because I am such a
mother.
Do
you remember it?
It was October 7, the third year
of Heisei when the prefecture police decided on the public investigation,
when I heard about missing girl “Kaori” at the first time.
The girl who was eight years old disappeared in Yokohama city.
Every day, the people were very interested in this event in the
development conditions of the investigation which mass communication
introduced.
However, in one month, it disappeared from the mass communication.
It is confined that “It hasn’t still been solved.”
An event fades away without big development and the strong clue, and it is
forgotten from the people’s heart gradually.
Thought it is the news applied to the mind, it’s not our business.
There won’t probably be a serious person that tries to search for Kaori
or fits hands to
God every day.
They don’t care about it.
Though I want to try to think about it again.
A feeling that parents care their child is endlessly wide.
There will be many mothers that have the experience of losing sight of a
child in the shopping center and the amusement park in the crowd of the
station in instant carelessness.
It is not the problem of the length of time.
When even if it is probably several minutes, it is really the time like
being the hell for mothers.
They will be search for around desperately, with thinking that bad things
won’t be on their child and praying to be safe in the heart.
They must pray and keep apologizing with blaming themselves, “I
should’ve not taken off my eyes.” and “I should’ve not brought in
such a place.”
This is Mother acts.
We
decided suddenly that we wanted to write an Kaori’s article to
the “a monthly mother business world newspaper.”
At once, we proposed in the Asahi
office.
And we showed the materials to have the activities of newspaper or others
and promised to have all responsibility on Kaori’s article.
Then we asked the Asahi office to introduce us Ms. Nomura.
We could get rapid correspondence, and we called Ms. Ikuko Nomura.
We asked to meet us anyway and we could visit her house
at that night.
Though she might understand our thoughts and welcomed us, she was never
talkative and showed good expression on her face.
She was very tired to answer our questions in a faint voice.
Honesty I didn’t know what to say.
After all we couldn’t make her tell our whole feeling.
But finally she answered, “I will leave it up to you.” and passed the
photograph her daughter.
I
had very hard day as one mother looking at
that photograph from that day.
I couldn’t leave from my mind
the word that “a secondary problem” of Ms. Nomura.
I repented about myself because I was too easy to think about this event.
Our son who is in the rebellious age never says “yes” and has not
submitted his homework of the
summer vacation because of his sloppiness.
But he is still with me.
Thinking about that he won’t be home anymore, I can’t breath.
Nobody can understand the pain of Ms. Nomura.
The police dog wasn’t useful because the smell was removed in the rain.
“There must be more traffic if only that day was not raining.”
We can be only disgusted at the rain.
There is no clue, no proof, and no testimony.
Can we imagine spend nine years without being disgusted at the criminal or
sharing the distress with someone?
My
distress became stronger day after day.
At last we judged to pass up the
publication in September issue because it became rather incomplete with
only photograph. We needed to
know various things of this event and that circumference deeply.
As for what can we do and what should we do now?
We thought what to appear for again.
At first we needed to examine the event properly and collect proper
information.
We turned over the newspaper in those days and collected the date of the
missing baby in the whole country and information.
Then we sent a letter to understand our thought to Ms. Nomura again.
We wrote everything honesty from our heart.
We went to the Asahi office as well covering directly in the prefecture
police at the same time.
Since
Kaori has been missing, many people from the school,
from the Lion’s Club have been cooperating
with the investigation, specially in local Asahi Ward
and the railway line of the Sagami Railway.
The special party with many
volunteers carries out to pass handbills at the Futamata
Sta., Tsurugamine Sta. and the operation laboratory at the first every
month.
Ms. Nomura answered to meet us again with the members from that party.
Two of the member came at appointed night at 7 o’clock with the
materials to explain their
activities.
Then they explained about “the method with the report of oneself
principle of the mass communication” and the response of the people who
received it and what could happen by these things.
Although we appreciated the kindness of the good people , we were also
afraid of the behaviors of the insensitive people somehow.
Finally I could start to understand the anxiety and delusion that Ms,
Nomura has.
“We won’t want the easy article.
Kaori lives in our heart still like the eight-years-old until whenever it
passes.
We are waiting for Kaori with the feeling that is really same as Ms.
Nomura until that day when Kaori comes back.” We heard this and had
encouragement and responsibility.
This
time the correspondence of the prefecture police was very quick.
The boy who is ten years old was
kid napped at Hodogaya in Yokohama city and two suspects were arrested
after five days and solved safely.
The result was based on the regular course of the investigation.
The prefecture police and jurisdiction staff members refreshed a feeling.
Once again, the movement of reconsidering the Kaori’s event which
hasn’t been solved and working on the countermeasure about the child’s
safety happens.
An abduction prevention classroom was set up in the life safety general
affairs countermeasure room of the prefecture police.
A policewoman goes to the kindergarten and the elementary school to give
attention the children, that is “Let’s tell your parents where you are
going.” “ You must not follow the stranger.” using a pamphlet and a
stuffed animal.
All we can do is to take a communication with our child usually.
It will be no use talking without knowing what kind of clothes a child is
in today.
You might not know where our children go when they become teen-ager, but
it is important to keep talking even though they don’t like it.
There is a big difference between “Someone is waiting for you.” and
“Nobody cares about you.”
How should we do when a child disappears?
The prefecture police answered.
“At first, we can’t be upset.
We can’t shout in the loud voice to call police.
The plainclothes detectives will come directly.
It is important to write down the companion, time, contents, conditions,
and so on of all the telephone call you got.
It becomes an important clue later.
We should calm down as much as possible.”
It is late to be after it happens.
It is necessary to be always careful.
Mother must be very careful to take care of the children in the recent
society which we can’t know what kind of person lives in the neighbor.
We mother have the consciousness of “the child care in the
neighborhood” and will have to change our society. |
